A 55-year-old woman from Tarpon Springs, Florida, beat the odds of nearly 1 in 3 million to win a life-changing $1 million top prize from the Florida Lottery’s popular $5 scratch-off game, The Cash Wheel.
She purchased her winning ticket at Publix on 40932 U.S. Highway 19 N. in Tarpon Springs.
The retailer earned a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
The winner chose to take the lump sum cash option, receiving $605,016.40 after taxes.
The woman claimed her prize at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee but has not disclosed her plans for the money.

Odds of winning the top $1 million prize are 1 in 2,963,170.
Six top prizes were originally available; now two remain unclaimed.
